Yes, the keyboard size, the software installation process and the finger-strip substitutes for Pitch and Mod wheels are compromises but, in the grand scheme, these can be lived with. With plenty of sonic editability, Multi and Live modes, iPad compatibility and more besides, at this price point, MiniLab is excellent. Of course, the usual limitations of mini-keys apply here (this reviewer has never been a fan) but they're reflective of the overall 'small is beautiful' philosophy Arturia have adopted here, so the decision is certainly forgivable. The pads (of which there are two banks) are designed to trigger chords - there's a tab on the right-hand edge of the GUI which lets you choose a key-note and a chord type (major, minor, 7th, diminished etc) for each pad, so it's very easy to trigger a chord progression with these whilst adding bass or lead with the keyboard.

However, the fact that they're all set up to be 'driven' from the keyboard's control surface with listed parameters for each patch sweetens the deal yet further. The sheer quality of the sounds helps enormously (these can be played from any controller keyboard, so if you happen to leave the MiniLab hardware at home, you'll still be able to use the software), as these justify the price point for MiniLab in their own right. Installation frustrations are soon eased once you're up and running, however.

"The sheer quality of the sounds justify the price point for MiniLab in their own right" In this video from YouTuber Dawless Jammin’, we get a thorough side-by-side comparison between the Arturia Keystep and Native Instruments M32 MIDI controllers. Doing this crashed the software app several times before we found this workaround, so consider yourself forewarned.

However, you'd be wise to register your purchase to obtain your licence and get authorised before running the software, rather than attempting to achieve authorisation through launching 'Analog Lab' for the first time, as the manual suggests. Understandably, the software is protected, using your choice of a hardware USB dongle or the eLicenser application. A project is the highest level of memory in Spark.

Ive been looking for some basic tutorials on using Arturia Spark 2, but all Ive found online is a couple vids posted by Arturia that really dont explain how to use the program. As a sound designer, we ask you to deliver a number of Spark projects. Arturia Spark 2 Help Im an experienced synth/piano player, but Im a complete noob when it comes to working with drum machines, etc. Blow up the blocks below the door, and slide through to find the Charge Beam.Frustratingly, we do need to advise you that installation of the software isn't quite as straightforward as Arturia's short-cut installation guide suggests. The purpose of this document is to provide rules and indications for the creation of projects for Arturia Spark software instrument. You’ll need to dodge the EMMI while standing on a plate to raise the water level. (If you’re lost, jump out of the knee-high water to the right of 6 on the map above.) Your goal is the narrow pipe in the bottom right.

Head clockwise through the area toward the top. When the EMMI is defeated, head left and up to another Save Station. Continue right to pick up your first use of the Omega Cannon. While Spark has always been built on a fully-modular VA (Virtual Analogue) sound engine, originally only developers had access to this rhythmical power source. Below is the list of the constant and intermittent issues that have been resolved in the Spark 2.4 update. Arturia has announced availability of Spark 2, bringing a new look, new feel, and new features to its sound-sculpting and performance drum machine software. Head generally right and up until you hit a save room. Since its release, we have been analysing how Spark 2 responds and reacts on different systems and DAWs, and refining its code to ensure the most stable, reliable experience for every user.
